Metaglip Indications

Generic Metaglip is developed by medical scientists to treat type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes. Treatment is combined with diet and exercise. Generic Metaglip tablets contain 2 oral antihyperglycemic drugs used in the management of type 2 diabetes, glipizide and metformin hydrochloride. Glipizide appears to lower blood glucose acutely by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, an effect dependent upon functioning beta cells in the pancreatic islets. Metformin hydrochloride is an antihyperglycemic agent that improves glucose tolerance in patients with type 2 diabetes, lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. Generic Metaglip is not taken to treat type 1 diabetes. Generic name of Generic Metaglip is Glipizide-Metformin. Brand names of Generic Metaglip are Metaglip.
